Calcutta has old tradition since British period gathering of people,lightening whole area specially near park Street area,enjoying foods,buying cakes.All cake shops are decorated with star light and different kinds of light,all makes a festive season.Goa also has tradition like that gathering of people in night,almost all house has astar shaped light on the door,decoration of different lights,different kinds of traditional foods,all really give a festive look,Kerala also has same like programs.Many years ago all these states were Europian colony but culture remains alive still now.
